| Two men are expected to be charged before the court today in connection with stealing 106 passports from the Bahamas Passport office.
One man was said to be a messenger at the office while the other is employed at the Ministry of Works. A search of cabinets in the office on April 17, by Chief Passport officer Jack Thompson found the official documents that have a street value of $3,365 missing. The police were contacted immediately, armed with a search warrant they were able to retrieve 50 of the 106 stolen passports. Meanwhile, 56 passports remain outstanding with numbers on them ranging from R2070201 through R207300. Additional numbers included FT002836, 39 FT002843 and FT002843. |
