| Customers of St George bank and users of recruitment website Monster.com have been the victim of an internet banking fraud in which thousands of dollars were transferred offshore.
In one instance the perpetrators of the fraud used Monster.com's website to contact a St George customer and encourage them into passing on their account details. The customer believed they were applying for a job, spokesperson for St George, Rebecca Taylor told iTNews. The Australian Federal Police (AFP) believe that other banks could be impacted by the scam and other recruitment agencies used, not just via online means. |
