Schools Grow Electronic Eyes

Ronald Blandie likes his video cameras. Twenty-five of the closed-circuit devices keep watch over the hallways, stairwells, and bathroom entrances of Blandie's New Jersey high school. Two full-time security personnel review videotape from the cameras daily, and if offenses are caught on screen, the students involved are called in and presented with the visual evidence.
