| The US and European nations appear to be closer to reaching agreement on a controversial global crackdown on tax evasion in offshore financial centres. The US Treasury said it was prepared to support the action being taken by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as long as it imposed no restrictions on the way havens structured their tax policies. |
