| The Irish Government told the EU yesterday that Ireland will not seek to renegotiate any part of the Nice Treaty in advance of a second referendum on the issue. The Irish Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Cowen, told a meeting of EU foreign ministers in Luxembourg that the Government will seek to ratify the present treaty before the end of 2002. |
