| San Wui Commercial Society School in Hong Kong looks like the kind of school parents would
fight to send their children to. Its charismatic principal and dedicated band of teachers are quick
to adopt new teaching techniques. The school's computer room boasts a score of gleaming PCs.
Yet, the principal, Brenda Yeung, says many middle class parents in the immediate vicinity have
reservations about sending their children there, largely because it has a growing number of
newly arrived children from mainland China.
"The middle class in this area don't think studying with immigrant children is good for their child.
Year after year, fewer locals come," says Ms Yeung. |
