Canada's privacy commissioner and solicitor general are locked in a battle over a surveillance camera in the city of Kelowna in British Columbia's interior.
For months now, Privacy Commissioner George Radwanski has fought to have the Royal Canadian Mounted Police camera removed on the grounds that it intrudes on citizen privacy. And Radwanski's most recent salvo could lead to Canada outlawing public surveillance cameras entirely. |
